California-Specific Requirements

Carelon Behavioral Health (formerly Beacon Health Options) manages behavioral health networks for Anthem Blue Cross of California, Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health programs, and several commercial plans across the state. CAQH ProView profile is required and must be re-attested every 120 days. California-specific items: California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) certification for Medi-Cal serving providers, California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) license verification for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, and LEP providers, and county Mental Health Plan (MHP) registration where the provider intends to deliver Specialty Mental Health Services. Recredentialing every 3 years.
