Spectera is UnitedHealthcare's vision network: routine vision providers join through the Join Our Network flow on spectera.com. This is also the vision lane for UHC-administered programs such as VA Community Care.

The stall to avoid: Spectera participation is separate from UnitedHealthcare medical participation: being in one does not put you in the other.

From PayerReady's payer enrollment research, built from the payer's own provider manuals and enrollment pages. Payer processes change; when a fact is not published by the payer, we say so rather than guess.

Iowa-Specific Requirements

Spectera is UnitedHealthcare's routine-vision network. To provide routine vision services, join through spectera.com (Join Our Network) or call 800-638-3120; medical vision services are handled separately through UnitedHealthcare directly. CAQH registration is required for some states and specialties, with current attestations. Complete the join form and a team member supports you through credentialing — all participating providers must meet credentialing requirements. Check application status by signing in with a One Healthcare ID. Recredentialing occurs every 3 years.
