Accepted BH license types in IN: LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, HSPP (Health Service Provider in Psychology), MD/DO (Board Certified), PMHNP. State licensing board: Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Mental Health Counselor Board. Active state license and NPI required. IN uses LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) not LPC. Psychologists must have HSPP endorsement for independent clinical practice. IN PLA oversees the combined board. Formerly Beacon Health Options. Manages BH for Anthem/BCBS plans and state Medicaid programs.
