Hawaii-Specific Requirements

Carelon Behavioral Health — formerly Beacon Health Options, now the behavioral health subsidiary of Elevance Health — enrolls providers through Availity Essentials (Carelon payer space, payer ID BHOVO); as of May 19, 2025 all new enrollment requests go through Availity. Carelon participates in CAQH ProView — add Carelon as an authorized organization and keep your attestation current. Credentialing requires a current unrestricted license plus a DEA or CDS certificate where applicable, and is completed within 180 days of the application attestation date; you may not see members in-network until credentialing is approved and the contract is countersigned. Recredentialing runs every 36 months, with a 30-day written appeal window for decisions.
