CMS maintains an "Inpatient-Only" list of procedures that can only be paid when performed in an inpatient hospital setting. These are typically complex, high-risk procedures like CABG (33533), major spinal fusions, and major joint reconstructions. Performing them in an ASC or hospital outpatient department will result in non-payment. This tool derives the list from OPPS Addendum B (Status Indicator C) for CY2026.
