Remittance Advice Remark Code. Supplemental code that adds detail to a CARC. 1,198 active codes in 2026. Format: M-prefix (informational, e.g., M1) or N-prefix (informational with action recommended, e.g., N130). Some RARCs are required to be paired with certain CARCs (e.g., CO-96 must be paired with at least one RARC explaining what is non-covered).
