EOB

Explanation of Benefits. The patient-facing document a payer mails or posts to the member portal showing what was billed, allowed, paid, and what the patient owes. Different from the provider remittance (835 / ERA), which has more granular adjustment codes. Patients receive an EOB after each claim adjudicates; providers receive the 835 simultaneously.
