Definition

Three-digit Type of Bill code on the UB-04 indicating facility type and bill purpose. First digit = facility type (1 hospital, 2 SNF, 3 home health), second digit = bill classification (1 inpatient, 2 inpatient Part B, 3 outpatient), third digit = frequency (1 admit through discharge, 7 replacement, 8 void). Example: 111 = inpatient hospital admit-through-discharge, 131 = outpatient hospital initial bill.
